Non-profit Organization Promoting Physical Fitness of Youth

The Metro Atlanta Youth Football League (MAYFL) is a non-profit organization that serves Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties.

The purpose of this League is to provide a wholesome and faith-based environment for the benefit of children in the Metro Atlanta area.

We do so in the following ways:

  • Promote and maintain physical exercise, physical fitness, and moral well-being of children
  • Support the educational initiatives and endeavors of the cities, clubs, and youth involved in our League
  • Engage, assist, encourage, participate, and teach the fundamentals of American Football and Cheerleading
  • To promote the ideals of good citizenship, sportsmanship, and honor among children in a competitive atmosphere
  • Promote and oversee amateur games, contests, sports, and athletics while elevating amateur athletics' standards and competitive level
  • Foster and encourage community pride through local amateur athletics.
  • Promote Safety First in all athletic endeavors
  • Instill wholesome values in youths and young adults
  • Enact and establish rules and regulations governing such games, contests, competitions, and exhibitions, classifying those participating therein, determining and defining awards and prizes for winning contests, defining and awarding tokens and insignia of championships, and determining and defining breaches and infractions of its rules and regulations, and imposing penalties therefore in accordance with the law
  • Exercise disciplinary authority so far as is lawful over all persons engaged in such games, competitions, and exhibitions to ensure that amateur games and contests may be subject to clean, dignified competition
  • Assist in combating juvenile delinquency by providing and promoting young athletes' physical and emotional well-being
  • All other ways are necessary to accomplish our only purpose

MISSION

The Metro Atlanta Youth Football League, Inc. (MAYFL) is an athletic league dedicated to organizing and conducting a competitive football and cheerleading environment for our youth.

PURPOSE

MAYFL’s purpose is:

  • To uphold the principles of its Constitution and Bylaws;
  • To comply with the standards of youth athletics;
  • To maintain fiscal management; and,
  • To cooperate with other recreational athletic organizations to promote youth athletics.

VISION

MAYFL will be recognized as the premier youth football and cheerleading league in the southeast region.

MAYFL will be distinguished by:

  • The integrity of our member associations;
  • Our success on and off the field; and,
  • Sportsmanship in our coaches, parents, players, and cheerleaders.

MAYFL is a non-profit organization that, from the beginning, provided a wholesome and faith-based environment for children of the Metro Atlanta area to play and enjoy football and cheerleading. Through those activities, our children demonstrate discipline, self-respect, confidence, and respect for individual and moral values.

Totaling over 3,000 boys and girls, ranging from 4 to 14 years of age, MAYFL is one of the premier youth athletic organizations in the Metro Atlanta area with aspirations of being the elite youth organization in the State of Georgia as the Southeastern United States.

Since its inaugural season in 2004, MAYFL has grown to include league members from the northern tip of Forsyth County to the southern end of Fulton County, with league members from Clayton County, Coweta County, Cobb County, Forsyth County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County, Henry County, DeKalb County, Paulding County, and the City of Atlanta.

MAYFL stands firm on the principle that scholastic and athletics are intertwined. To excel in athletics, one must excel academically. Because of this belief, MAYFL's designed its programs to encourage and develop our children into valuable, well-rounded, productive citizens. MAYFL recognizes coaches, players, and cheerleaders for their efforts through various awards programs.
